Just as a reminder, do not buy Monster brand anything. They are ridiculously overpriced. They’ll try and sell you an HDMI* cable for $100, fer instance. It’s a digital cable, for carrying a digital signal, it does not have to be fabulously high quality, that’s the entire point of digital signals, they don’t degrade like analog signals. Radio Shack has fallen into the Monster realm, you may not have luck finding normal cables there. I’ve taken to an online store for all my cable needs monoprice they have good quality cables at dirt cheap prices.
*Just for reference, there are 3 ways to get an HDTV signal from a cablebox/DVD to your new TV.
Component - You have 3 video cables and 2 audio cables, each with a standard coaxial (RCA type) connector on the end. This sends an analog signal. This is also standard for DVDs
DVI - A computer style cable (a large connector, like a printer) that carries digital video, you also use 2 standard audio cables
HDMI - A computer style cable (small connector, like USB) that carries both digital video and audio in one cable. This is the way to go.
