Need a good Limeade recipe!

Im looking for a nice simple Limeade recipe (preferably one that Vodka can easily be added to).

I’ve seen a few recipes online but a lot of them mention a can of this or a can of that, and not only is it hard with this stuff not available to me, but i’d rather it be all fresh.

So limes, sugar, water, vodka…(and anything else that’s simple and effective).
How do i do it?

First, make a simple syrup - equal parts water and sugar, boiled until all the sugar dissolves. Cool that down. Then, add equal parts simple syrup and fresh lime juice (or bottled, if you must) to cold water. It’s been awhile, but I think it’s a cup of each to two quarts of water. Adjust to taste.

Sugar won’t dissolve in the lime juice, that’s why you make a syrup first.

My recipe
Approximately: 1 cup sugar/1 cup lime juice/4 cups water/peel from the limes

Boil the water, sugar and lime peel for 5 minutes. Allow to cool and strain. Add lime juice refridgerate and enjoy.

You may adjust the amount of ingrediants to your taste. I have made it without the peel but found it tasters better with. I have used this basic recipe for pretty much all the “ades” Citrus mixes are quite nice.

A big hit at family gatherings involves the same as what LifeOnWry and madrabbitwoman said, but with seltzer water instead of the regular kind. Fizzy & Fun!

I’d suggest some Lebanese Lemonade if you can get the orange blossom water. Just use limes instead of lemons…

I’ve actually had a version of this Middle Eastern lemonade, but they used whole pulverised lime, including the pith and rind. They made the basic sugar water and orange water recipe to order, but with whole, blendered, limes and lemons. It’s a pretty unique drink and version of limeade, and this recipe sounds similar, but not exactly like it.
