I feel like I’m in 1990.
I still maintain a land line for my business as I have plenty of customers who still only have that number for us. We do wells and water pumps. My father is rather low tech and handles most the phone calls coming into that line. The current answering machine is behaving badly so I figure it’s time to replace it, but walking into a best buy they don’t seem to have anything beyond the most basic.
No one is actually ever at our shop to answer the phone so anyone calling has to leave a message. The existing machine automatically calls my fathers cell phone when that happens. I need a new machine or a new solution to do that. I don’t even know what that feature is. I’d prefer something that could also forward the caller ID info as people in a world of caller id don’t often think to leave their number so we can’t get that info without stopping in the shop.
I don’t want to forward every call directly to a cell phone as the number is on every sales offices list and we can’t be bothered with our cell phones ringing all the time.
Anyone have knowledge of a good machine or one to look for?
