Need a recipe... as close to La Madeleine's cream of mushroom soup as I can get

I’m in love with their cream of mushroom soup. I want to make something as close to that as possible. Not just any cream of mushroom soup… one that tastes like the soup at La Madeleine’s. Anyone? Pleeeease?

The craving… it hurts…

Can you provide a description? For my own soup I first make a big skillet of duxelles[chopped mushrooms, shallots, butter and some rosemary]Add some chicken stock to loosen everything up, then stir in as much cream as I dare. Comes out fairly thick as soups go, I sometimes have to adjust by adding more stock. A fine mess of pottage indeed.

I’m a vegetarian and will not eat anything made with chicken stock. I don’t really know how to describe it… it has lots of mushrooms in it and a very distinctive flavor.

Here’s a very French-looking one. I’m sure you could substitute vegetable broth, or maybe some liquid from soaking dried mushrooms.

Could the distinctive flavor be wine, sherry, or brandy? Do you think they used more than one kind of mushroom?

I’ve had the soup there and I like it too. Every recipe I looked up online had chicken stock in it though, sorry. I would be surprised if the stuff at La Madeline didn’t. I know most of the baked potato soups I get everywhere use ham stock as a base.

I’ve checked with La Madeleine and their tomato basil and their cream of mushroom soups are both meat-stock free.

I can substitute vegetable stock for chicken stock in most recipes, I would think.
