Need Advice Fast - Tipping Caterer!

As noted in other threads, we’re having an anniversary party tomorrow.

More specifically, an anniversary picnic.

Most specifically, an anniversary shower  (in case link doesn’t work, it’s supposed to rain :().

We’re having it catered. 70+ people, assuming all make it. The caterer (one person) will be there from 11:00 to 5:00, and the party itself will be from 1 to 4. He will be doing the usual setup, as well as grilling some food.

I gather a gratuity is usual. Any idea how much would be reasonable?

I tipped the gals who handled my parents 50th anniversary $100. It was worth it to not have to worry about all that shit.

Was that 100 apiece, or 100 for the two of them?

Total. The bill was something like $600, and they handled the whole schmear. All I had to do was the toast.

Ask them. When I moved, I asked the moving company, etc. Just ask “Is tipping customary?”
