Need an American favour

I am really curious about this-

And I have a bank account that I don’t really use- so there is no money in it to be scammed out.

If it isn’t against board rules, I am interested in hearing more if the OP wants to PM me- As brewha says, I can’t exactly see how they could scam, as I don’t ever put money in this account- it is simply there because I haven’t closed it, and it is free due other accounts I have at the bank.

I also think it is very interesting (and the thing that is the most fishy to me about the OP) that the OP is so critical of Paypal- which is the most secure and safe online payment method I use, and I just find it difficult to understand what exactly the problem is…

So, while I DON’T think I am likely to end up completing this transaction, as it IS pretty fishy, I am willing to go a little farther down the road to seeing what exactly the steps are that you want me to take, Random Design.

Oh, and you forgot this part of the quote from the link you posted- you left some of it out.

The other issue is Paypal. Even if Random Design is completely legit, the key factor of this problem is how shady Paypal can be. So why would I want to form a connection between my banking account and a shady operator like Paypal?

Again- what is so shady about Paypal? I use it for every online transaction I can, as I like its terms better than my bank’s terms. Much safer for transactions.

I also receive money through it often, and have paid for items and just sent cash, too!

What makes Paypal shady? It just sounds like all the issues are from people who didn’t read - at all- what the terms were going to be before not only signing up, but actually setting up the account to receive funds BEFORE they completed the process!

I was forced to wait out the verification process before Paypal would even tell me the account existed for use, actually, so I am a bit unclear as to how that is possible, but apparently it is!

So, Septimus- you still have that $150 in an account? If this works, perhaps I should make it a business…

We’re not here to help you break, or even bend, the law, Random Design, so I’m going to lock this.
