Need answer fast- -not a joke - hurt myself

15 years ago I hit my finger w/ a hammer - big bump, had it for years.
I cut that finger just now very badly - big yellow mass stiching out, fell off.
I stopped the blod.
I thinkk I’m OK - do I need to go to the hospital?

Sorry can’t type.
Am I OK? or go to ER?

If you’re in any kind of doubt - and you do seem to be - you should go see a doctor to make sure. It’s not worth taking risks with your health!

OK-I’m going to ER - seems silly for a finger but I guess bettter to b Safe - sorry typing w/ 1 hand

Confused:confused:

You cut your finger where you had a long term bump from hitting it years ago, and this big yellow mass that was the bump fell off/out where the cut happened?

Yes, I had the bump for years after hitting w/ a hmmer.
I cut it today and the big yellow mass popped out - freaked me out so I saked here. I’m sitting in the ER now

IANAD
I’m guessing that what came out was a sub-cutaneous cyst.

Hope everything turns out to be ok. Please, let us know what the results are.
(I’m really curious to know, as I have a similar bump.)

Sounds like a sebaceous cyst had developed there and the new injury dislodged it.

I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the ER visit if it just came out and that was it, but you also say you cut your thumb pretty bad so you may need stictches?

Just googled “subcutaneous cyst” to see what they look like…

Why do I do this to myself? Whyyyyyyyyy? :frowning:

So zoid, are you out of ER? What happened?
nikonikosuru, it’s seldom a good idea to GIS medical conditions not your own.

Its only been 7 hours

Seldom a good idea to GIS your own medical conditions either.

Hah! I spent 10 hours there last Friday night with my husband! Four hours before being seen.

I sure hope she keeps that thing. I’d bet its pan fryable. And somebody should be able to keep it down for 20 minutes at least once. But I’d have to see the thing from orbit to be sure.

Good ol’ ganglions.

My husband has one of those cyst-y things in his temple from taking a baseball there a couple of years ago. It’s squishy - you can press it and compress it. But not for long, and not too often, because he gets cranky.

GIS? Whazzat mean?

From context, I’d presume google image search.

Google Image Search. You can select “Images” at the top of the Google page and you’ll only get back pictures as a result of your search. Turn off safesearch for extra porn fun.

In my line of work (construction safety), I get to see gross stuff first hand all the time – no need to google anything; just wait until someone walks into my office with blood shooting out of an arterial bleed asking, “Is this bad?”

I have two of my gall stones in a jar at home. They’re cool, especially the one the size and shape of a large black olive.

Stop poking me!!!

Looks like about 12 hours now. That’s long even by ER standards.
