Sorry all, but this is another see if you can figure out what **Cluricaun **can’t remember type of deal. Back in the early 90’s I was dating a girl who was obsessed with a female author who went by a single name who not only wrote books but also had journals and stationary and the like with her artwork on it. It was really girly stuff subject matter, something that was cartoony and yet still had a message of female empowerment on a very low level. Given the amount of stuff that was around with this lady’s name on it I’m hoping that it’s not that obscure.
Well, she certainly was not alive in the 1990s, but Colette might be the one you’re looking for. A whole industry was built up around her at one point. She was a prolific writer, still popular long after her death, and you could certainly get Colette-themed diaries, day journals, etc. 1873-1954. I mean, I suppose you could say she wrote about ‘girly’ stuff, and she was forever causing scandals with her lesbian affairs, but cartoony – not so much. Empowerment, yeah, check. I dunno…probably not the one you’re looking for. Or if she is, you’ve mischaracterized her to a certain extent.
