Need help debunking a 9/11 myth.

We really thrashed that one out a month ago in this BBQ pit thread: Keeping US borders safe. I don’t see much point in revisiting it, other than to point out that since Mr. Despres was an American citizen, he had a constitutional right to re-enter the U.S., since that’s one of the privileges of an American citizen.

This just needed some emphasis.

Not much to add here except I was an American in BC on business on 9/11.
The Canadians were wonderful. Best people in the world. They took care of all the passengers that were stranded, and made them feel welcome.
I cannot thank them enough.

Of course, we can’t be too complacent - one terrorist, the Millenium Bomber, did try to get into the U.S. from Canada towards the end of 1999. He was sentenced yesterday to 22 years by a US federal judge.
