… So this one’s been driving me batty for a couple of weeks now…
There was one show, I’m guessing a sitcom but could also have been a sketch comedy, probably from the 80s or maybe early 90s. One episode’s plot and/or B-plot involved these two characters. Character A needs to learn how to drive. Character B claims he (for simplicity’s sake, let’s assume they’re both hes) aced his driver’s exam and offers to teach Character A how to drive.
It turns out Character B is a bad driver. I mean, really bad. As in, somewhere between gleefully incompetent and maniacally reckless. Needless to say, the lesson does not go well for Character A.
The kicker at the end is, it turns out Character B took his driving test in a place so (small/backwards/isolated/etc.) that he couldn’t hit anything on the road, because there was literally nothing to hit.
I’m 99% sure this was a sitcom or sketch comedy (no way that would’ve been played for drama). It’ driving me bonkers (pardon the pun) that I can’t remember. Please help?
