Getting a Blue Heeler puppy (male) and we’re having trouble finding a suitable name. We want something with an Austrialian connection. Our last Blue Heeler was named Dundee. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve had two blues in my life so far. The first was Rudy. I liked the “cowboy” feel to it and it was a great name to call out.
My guy now is named Silas. It’s okay, but I almost wish I’d named him Rudy, too.
Someone above suggested Joey for an Aussie connection. That has some of the good call name characteristics as Rudy.
I’ve read that the best dog names (for the dog and you) have two syllables, end in a long vowel, and have a fairly strong consonant at the beginning. (Hmm, Rudy and Joey don’t really have that, but I think the first long vowels help that.)
Just don’t name him Chuckles. I once heard a woman in Boston Common yelling, CHUCKLES, COME HERE! DAMMIT, CHUCKLES, I SAID COME HERE!! And I thought, Man, if you’re going to be yelling at your dog like that, for sure don’t name him Chuckles.

Great name; unfortunately, it’s been done. As a matter of fact, I think to register your cattle dog, it must NOT be named Dingo. They just finally had to crack down.
