Need help with Crisis Core...

In some of the missions there is a critter that is giving me real problems. I don’t know what its name is, but it’s just a bunch of colored spheres that bounce around. After a few seconds, it fries Zack with something called a "delta attack.’ Beating it with a sword does pretty minimal damage, as does attacking it with the materia I have right now i.e. elemental attacks. Anybody know what this cootie is named and what its weakness is?
