Georgia is in the United States.
You’re assuming foreigners will automatically know that “GA” means “Georgia”.
I hope it’s not too late. Is it too late?
Thanks, delphica!
Your assumption is correct, Septima. I hope jjimm sees this, too.
Minor to you, Frelling Tralk, with great benefits for me and my students. Thanks.
Heck, yeah.
Cool. Vielen dank!
Your point is well taken. Sorry for any confusion.
A postcard will be great, even if the handwriting’s horrible.
Sal, I recently met woman who homeschooled 4 of her 5 children over the last 15 years, successfully sending two to college. I was impressed with her program, including the vegan lunches and small class size and started teaching here three weeks ago. I’m still assessing my students but overall having a blast, spending far more quality time actually teaching than dealing with constant disciplinary problems. I expect we’ll be doing great things in a few more weeks. Right now we’re working out of a local church, although the teaching isn’t religious.
monstro, you will never be too late to get my attention. If I were piloting a plane down a runway and got word you were running late, I’d circle back around.
I’ll send one this afternoon from Australia. It will take, based on how long it takes to get stuff to my mom in North Carolina, about 12 days.
Cheers,
G
:blushing so much my head feels like it’s about to explode:
You’ll be getting a card from Miami…some time.
One of my sisters lives down the street from where you work, by the way!
Objective achieved.
Let’s hope you’re the visiting type.
I’ll pop one into the post today.
Card posted
Card written, to be posted. Signed “S”. The writing on the front mean “greetings from Oslo”, BTW.
Oh, since there wasn’t enough space to include my adress … do you need it seperately, or should I post the info here, or how are the kids supposed to research about typical life over here?
Sent
I’ll see if I can find one that represents our beautiful geography up here.
Why did I picture you in NYC??
OK, I bought a postcard at Borders while I was there today. I’ll try to get it in the mail this weekend.
Do tell when you recieve the various cards, and what they vere used for.
Askia, I’m sending a postcard from San Francisco, California. You can ask your students to determine what my Straight Dope username means.
Pirates – like Dinosaurs – is one of those subjects that will rarely fail to interest the young at heart.
Askia, I went and bought a post card last Friday and then totally spaced out and never sent it. I’ll have to see if I can find the darn thing now. Sorry.
I didn’t even notice this thread until today! If you still need cards, I’ll shoot one off from here in Seattle when I get a day off.
“Day off”? I can’t believe I said that. I don’t even know what that means anymore. I’ll still try to get one out ASAP.
Are you still looking for postcards? This sounds fun but, like the previous poster, this is the first time I’ve seen this thread.
**Askia ** - any updates on whether the postcards have started to arrive?
