Need software suggestions for making drum patterns.

I need some sort of program that will create a drum pattern for an audio project I am doing. I don’t have a keyboard or any MIDI equipment or anything, but I’m looking for something kinda basic that I can click a few buttons and create a wav file of a drum going “Boom Boom BoomBoomBoom”. That’s it, just the 5 beats.

Anybody know anything that will do this?

Try doing a search on ‘Drum Wav’. I found a lot of sites that will let you download drum wav files from free.

Check out Leaf Drums for the sequencer and http://www.findsounds.com to search for additional sounds.

For the record, pre-recorded patterns are already made. You know? Like a wav file will go “Bum, budda, bum, budda, bum, budda…” or whatever. Those aren’t of use to me unless I could find one that was already exactly what I needed.

I did find something along the right track though. I found some freeware that gave me a single beat. I then imported that beat into Sonic Foundry Acid and played with it a bit until I got something that I think will be workable.

Have you tried Fruity Loops? Its probably the best sequencer i’ve used. If you’re only wanting a limited loop, the demo version might do that for you (4 channels I think).

I’ll also suggest Fruity Loops. You can even use your own PC Keyboard for note inputs, and it’s fairly easy to use.
