Need some good shareware, legal only!

I need to transfer a bunch of mzy audio cds onto my hdd so i can listen to them while playing eq. I feel that one should reward people who write programs for their efforts, so i would like a few suggestions for a good shareware program.

It needs to be easy enough for this lame user to manage to install, have a simple graphic interface and in general play well with the other kiddies installe on my system0)

I looked at cDex, which requires you to install a secondary program, which I tried using their instructions, and audio companion. Both of these crash my system to the blue screen of death.

Since dealing with the cat whizz in my computer has made me go out and buy distilled water, cotton swabs and alcohol swabs I want one that they ask for a resonably small amount…like around $10 US or less :frowning:

Well I was only halfway through your post and was just about to tell you to get Cdex but if it isn’t w.orking (pity really…) I’ll have to think of something else

Easy CD Ripper @ $22 from Easy CD Ripper Brief Description | Kongsoft Software

Aare CD Ripper @ $20 from http://www.2shareit.com/
Both seem to do what you need but go above the $10 limit but…
FreeRIP from Useful resources in the software world | MGShareware

seems to do pretty much everything and for free too

It uses the LAME encoder which is the standard and best one to use and while it displays ad’s, these are included in the program and are not downloaded from the Internet. YOu only need 'net access if you want the program to rename the tracks on your computer afrer ripping rather than just having Track 1 Track 2,… or doing it manually.

Thanks - I will give it a shot=) Like I said, I like to support programmers when possible that are not allied with micro$oft…

now if i could only get EQ to run on Suse linux…

Why limit yourself to shareware? Exact Audio Copy is free and there are helpful sites on the web on how to use it to the best of its capabilities.

Ahh, I didn’t realise that Exact Audio Copy was free.

EAC is pretty much the best out there though it wasn’t all the user-friendly last time I looked.
