My wife is putting together craft kits. We want to include little packets with about 1/4 - 1/2 oz of PVA (Elmer’s-like) glue . I searched on the web and the only thing I could find is 1 1/4 oz bottles of Elmer’s. Any suggestions?
You can roll your own. 1/2 oz plastic squeeze bottles, pkg. 4.
I’d though of that but there is a lot of labor involved. Also, the price on the site you linked to is really expensive. We could include full sized bottles of glue for that price. What would be ideal are those little mustard and ketchup packets at fast food joints.
A cabinet I bought at IKEA a couple years back came with the 1 1/4 oz bottle of Elmer’s to glue maybe 4 pegs. I’m guessing if IKEA can’t get their hands on smaller packages of glue then there’s a good chance they don’t exist. Like I said though, that was at least a year ago, and maybe two so there may have been a stride in glue package technology since then.

Here are some .25 and 1 oz containers for 10-15 cents each in quantity.
Elmers glue is .71 cents per bottle here. You may be able to do better in quantity
12 packs of Elemers glue sticks at SAMs Club come to about .55 cents each but stick may not work for your application.
4 oz bottles of Elmers at the SAMS site are only about 70 cents each.
If you want to roll your own
Get a gallon bottle of Elmers at SAMS for $ 9.78 or 978/128 oz =
7.4 cents per oz
Get a 1.5 inch wide 2200 foot roll of 3 mil poly tubing for $ 12.00
Get a thermal inpulse poly bag sealer for $ 50.00
Go to town! Not including labor or figuring out how to get the glue from the bottle and into the bag without making a mess, your total materials cost per sealed bag should be around 12 -20 cents per bag in quantity of thousands.
Thanks Astro!!
If that’s the route you go, you might want to try eBay for your bag sealer. That’s what I did when I had my own home business and saved a lot.
