2005 Jeep Liberty
I had the struts replaced and like an idiot didnt get an alignment so three questions.
The alignment shop said the shocks place must of put the struts in at a wrong angle and the solution is to move the struts. Does that sound right?
The next two are about driving with the old tires. The inner tread is nearly gone but the other 4 rows are great
Will I throw the front out of alignment driving on tires with such uneven wear?
After the alignment will I have bad traction on snow and ice if i have 4 good rows of tread and basically slicks on the inner tread?
My understanding is that it will not affect the alignment of the wheels. They will be aligned to the specs the technician sets them to.
It will affect the alignment of the treads, since the outer treads will have greater contact than the inner ones and the alignment assumes an even tread.
If the inner treads are bald (basically slick), the tires are bad and I would not risk my life with them, on snow and ice, or even dry pavement.
Yes.
No.
It won’t be as good as with evenly worn tires.
