Neighbors dog poo. kill or be killed?

I imagine he would be somewhat resentful if a child stepped in dog excrement and tracked it into the house.

It appears that some of the aforementioned dog poo may have found it’s way into your bowl of Cheerios this morning.

Also, I fail to see how saying “their own name” over and over could possibly help with masturbation.

Their own name.
Their own name.
Their own name.

Hmm, kind of sexy after all. Excuse me, I need a mirror…

I can see why they’d let their dog shit in your yard.

Ummm… get a fence?

A good solution, but expensive.

What i gather is…

Neighbor keeps letting their dog run over into his yard and shit all over, and then they dont even come clean it up.

AND that he already has been asking them to please knock it off, and they just ignore him.

That is of course very sadly typical in my experience.

You have legal options.
Here is one article of reference on it

When you have to resort to being a prick about it, better to be the prick with the attorney letter in hand

I don’t know, man. Think I gotta side with the dog on this one.

You must be reading my mail.

I had a former coworker who said, “Never EVER confront the neighbor. Poison the dog and deny.” I don’t know what you should do. I didn’t poison my neighbor’s dog. But he was definitely right about never confront the neighbor. They are batshit nuts. You can anonymously confront your neighbor through law enforcement. If you have already confronted them, if you choose to go through law enforcement, they’ll probably know it’s you.

I think, in that scenario, I would have poisoned the coworker.

Some threads here make one feel repulsed by American cops.

Some threads make one feel bad for them.

Don’t know where the OP lives (and not REALLY sure why I’m responding given the tone/content of his posts), but presuming he lives in a city/town/village with some municipal zoning, building, and animal control codes, and decent services including some attempts to enforce those codes, with an ongoing neighbor situation like this the ONLY thing to do at this point is to call the village and/or the police. Explain the issue, and have THEM talk to your neighbor. If at all possible, back up your version with a photo of the dog dumping on your lawn. Sign a complaint if appropriate.

I imagine it would be quite rare for a city or town to not have a code prohibiting dogs from crapping on other peoples’ property without the owner cleaning it up. Probably a leash law as well, and other animal control ordinances. The cops/village personnel exist to enforce those ordinances. I’ve had both municipal personnel and cops tell me that, if you’ve tried to discuss something with your neighbor but have been unsuccessful, they WANT you to call them and get them involved. That is their job - what you are paying them to do. The last thing they want is for residents to take matters into their own hands and escalate disagreements.

Of course, if you live in the boonies, you might be more on your own.

I suppose that DNA analysis could prove that the dog defecated in his yard, but I don’t see any way that is affordable other than a picture. I can’t see myself camping out on the porch camera in hand waiting for the dog to sully my yard.

I tried that once and it went horribly wrong. Mind you, my legal name is “John Q. Candyman”.

Security cameras are getting to be under $30 now, maybe even cheaper.

Well, one could argue that if the OP never saw the dog do it, how is he certain that is the culprit? With cellphones, al he needs to do is be prepared to click a pic should he see the dog out his front window. Heck, even a shot of the dog on his lawn NOT pooping would be supporting evidence. I’d probably spring for a security camera if I were as concerned about this as the OP seems to be.

But in reality, if the situation is obvious that it is the neighbor’s dog, that is enough to go to the authorities. Crap on both yards; no other dogs running free in the neighborhood. Not even sure the OP says the neighbor ever denied it was his pooch.

A huge percentage of neighbor disputes are essentially “he said/she said.” Doesn’t prevent local authorities from stepping in.

I stand corrected.

He could make the neighborhood happy and move.

Hire one of those dog-dropping yard cleanup services to work on your yard, and then send the bill to your neighbors.

But they probably won’t pay it, so you will eventually have to. But at least you got your yard cleaned up.

Food poisoning at least.
