Neopets

Oh, you wicked wicked people!! I’ve forgotten about poor little kyrianne kyri for three days! Ahhh! This horrid horrid sdmb turned me into another neopet abuser! I’ll never forgive myself if…

<<exits room sobbing>>

I used to be really hooked to NeoPets. I stopped for a while, but this thread has re-kindled (sp?) the flame so to speak. I’m now Lady_Juliet with a Bruce named Mr_Pando. Now then, if I can only figure out how all this stuff works…

I can’t do it. They’re too cute. I’m so afraid of letting one down and making it sad, even though it’s just a .gif I gave a name to…

<<sniffling sounds>>

[sub]Can’t even remember my own neopet name kyrinnae the kyrii…

I’ll leave quietly[/sub]

What quest are you on that you can’t drop? The Uber Faerie quests you just go to Faerieland and click the “I don’t want this quest” button. All the others you just let the time limit expire.

Oh, Arden, thank you, thank you, thank you! I don’t know why I didn’t see that before. I guess I am not very observant.

I just wondered if you had found some Quest of Doom that I hadn’t stumbled across yet and wanted to avoid at all costs.

dlgirl, another option is to get a neofriend to find the item for you and send it to you. But never, EVER do the earth faerie’s quests - all that happens is that your pets no longer feel hungry. And the earth faerie wants the most expensive items out of all the faeries - even the faerie queen! Grrrrr.

Every day, I have to:

[li]Spin the Wheel of Excitement and the Wheel of Mediocrity[/li][li]Get my free omelette[/li][li]Play tombola[/li][li]Spin the desert wheel[/li][li]Collect interest from the bank[/li][li]Alter my pet in the neolab[/li]
I’m so sad … I actually have a system. :frowning:

Arden, no. I just had a stupid quest from the Dark Faerie. I had to find a Plastic Sword. Argh! I couldn’t find it at all! Why, oh why didn’t I think about not accepting it? I thought it would be easy, but nooooo, it had to be difficult. Anyway, I didn’t want to do it. I can’t even accomplish the other quests, how in the world am I going to finish the Uber Faeries’ quests?

Thanks for the tip Kayeby. I’ll keep it in mind if I ever run across her quests.

Bah. Earth Faerie is the most lame thing in there.

Kayeby, you sound like me. But I also must do the Treasure Hunt for Space Map pieces, play Switch-A-Roo on Fast and play Poogle Solitare. Easy 3000 NP a day right there. 6000 if I sell the map piece in my shop.

:frowning:

I lost my account. Some stupid hacker got ahold of my keystrokes logging in, and stole my account. Changed the password and everything. Not only did he clean out my store, bank account, and inventory, but my kyrii is unrecoverable! I tried contacting the admin, but they can’t do anything.

Aww… (((Munch)))

Someone git in my daughter’s account and cleaned out her bank account. Fortunately she was on at the time and had just won big on the Wheel of Excitement and was about to deposit it when she saw her 0 bank balance and swiftly changed her password so she saved her store and safety deposit box, but she lost over 100,000 NP.

That’s about what I lost, plus about 150,000 in inventory.

A little hint for those wanting to go into NeoPets business: Forget about food. All the help sites suggest selling food. What you need to sell is books. Everyone loves books. They’re easier to inventory, their turnover isn’t nearly so stressful, a fast connection can get you lots of books very quickly, and they sell for big money.

And plus, they make your pet wicked smart!

I’ve come across people trying to harvest passwords. If you see an item going extremely cheaply (faeries, codestones, for 1NP) when you click on it, it re-directs you to the owner’s website where they mimic the “Sorry! You are not logged in!” page. When you type in your username and password, they can record it and use it to hack your account.

Of course, sometimes you actually do get people accidentally selling faeries and codestones for 1NP. That’s always a nice surprise!

Yeah - Neopets warns you to make sure you’re looking at the http://www.neopets.com URL. You shouldn’t suddenly be asked to login again. And remember to report the little f*ckers to the abuse address! (And change your password regularly.)

My pet peeve with Neopets are the shops with MIDI files, and wallpaper, and multiple banner ads, and MIDI files, and dolls, and “security buttons,” and MIDI files, and links to their personal home pages, and eleven different kinds of other garbage that doesn’t need to be there and SLOWS DOWN MY COMPUTER. Or they futzed with the shop description so much that their inventory is all over the place and you can’t click on it (or else it spirits you away to their home page, and you get to learn all about how much they LOVE the Backstreet Boys).

Keep it simple, folks.

Exactly. My shop was a thing of beauty. The avatar was a demented looking leprechaun, and the text said something along the lines of: “I’ve got a lot of books. They’re all for sale.”

My “Every Day” list (oh yeah? I actually have a Neopets binder with this stuff typed up and printed out, so there):

[li]Collect bank interest[/li][li]Get my free omelette[/li][li]Neopets Fruit Machine (desert wheel, same thing)[/li][li]Play Tombola[/li][li]Buy a lottery ticket[/li][li]Check my stock portfolio[/li][li]Check my shop till[/li][li]See if any of my pets is hungry and feed them[/li][li]Buy one new different book for each of my four pets, PLUS a copy for my guild PLUS one to sell in my shop[/li][li]Buy an inexpensive ( < 150 NP ) weapon or other gift for one of my Neofriends[/li][li]Leave an inexpensive ( < 50 NP ) gift under the Money Tree and donate 50 NP[/li][li]Buy a new weapon for myself from my want list and update my weapons inventory (rarity and weight). When I use it in the Battledome, I’ll make notes of what specifically it does (I have an idea from the Battlepedia before I equip my pet, of course, but I want to know how many of what kind of attacks or defenses, and how reliably)[/li][li]Buy a new collectable card for my Neodeck and another to sell[/li][li]Maintain Trading Post trades as needed[/li][li]Treasure Hunt[/li][li]Poogle Solitaire[/li][li]Cliffhanger[/li]li five games of Pyramids[/li][li]four games (the max) of Switch-a-roo[/li][li]a few games of NeggSweeper (my personal favorite, though frustrating)[/li][li]I try to do one Battledome fight a day, but sometimes I get discouraged and quit for a while (especially if I get trounced by a thirteen-year-old). Other times I can’t get enough and do four or five at once.[/li]
No, of course I don’t do all of this every day, but I try.

Does anyone know how to use the Alchemy ability? It sounds cool, but how do you use it in the Battledome??

I am also “a35362” on Neopets if anyone wants to look for my shop or trades (hint, hint).

hurray for Neopets! My name is revemari and I have a Moehog called MrMoebius. I haven’t been on for a few days though. I’m gonna join the SDMB guild when I log back in!

These are the things that I do (varies day to day but this is the common list):

*Check on pets. Feed them if hungry.
*If pets are not hungry, I still go and search for food to buy.
*Check NEWS page.
*Check out my NeoFriends shops for some nifty items. Buy them (as Arden Ranger knows, I’m quite a regular at her shop  ).
*Check my shop till. I’m never serious about my shop, though, and am quite surprised when I find some points in there.
*If I have stocks, I check them.
*Play PoogleSolitaire. Get my points from my three games of KikoMatch.
*Get a free omlette.
*Check to see if the SDMB Guild has any new messages.
*Put about 100-200 NPs in my bank account.

That’s about it. Sometimes I do these things, sometimes I don’t. If I’m in a hurry, most often than not I’ll just rush in and feed my pets then rush out.

And I appreciate it.

I had to jack up the prices on my Chia Pops just to keep them in stock because other shopkeepers were buying them and selling them for hideous prices. :frowning: But I still try to keep things lower than everybody else, at least when I put something new in.
