Nervewracking waits

Don’t you just hate those? Those times when nothing you can do will speed things up, but you don’t know if in the end, the news is good or bad.

I went to the doctor last week for possible diabetes. Turns out, the likelyhood of that based on my fasting blood sugar is very low, but the doctor ordered full blood tests just to be sure. She also wanted to check for kidney disease, because I have a tingling in my upper left thigh whenever I lay flat on my back. Now I just have to wait until they call me back with the results, and not knowing what’s wrong with me is scary. I’ve scoured the entire Internet trying to find a possible diagnosis. Kidney disease seems not too likely, because I don’t really fit most of the symptoms and my blood pressure was 94/58.

Some sort of nerve injury due to exercise seems most likely, though excess weight is also possible. I don’t know if muscle could also cause the problem. Maybe it’s something with my lower back, which does hurt much of the time.

Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest while I’m waiting.

My favorite was after I got evacuated from work when a package showed up… A possible bomb/bioagent, and we wouldn’t know until later on in the weekend what was in it, and we wouldn’t know until monday if we were going to die.

The constant blood work to see if I’ve been exposed to HIV/SIV/B-virus/Antrhax/TB/HTLV/and several other things…

Sucks doesn’t it?

Today is day 3 past ovulation.

This is going to be a very long two weeks for me…and the fact that I do it every month makes it less and less fun every time.

I’m waiting today as well. Although it is not as serious as what you are going through. Not close at all. Good luck.

My wait is for a propane company to come and deliver my tank. I took the day off of work which turned out to be a big deal (it shouldn’t have been, still don’t understand that.)

So here I sit, monitoring my emails for work, waiting for the propane company. They said they would be here between 9 and 10 am. Its now 10:30. I hope they make it today. Soon. I would like to get started on burying the line to the house. The driveway is torn to hell.

Drives me crazy, a lot of the companys where I live have a rather lacksidasical attitude twords customer service. I think it comes from being the only service available.

Well, time to get off the net incase they try to call. Good luck on your wait.

I’m sorta waiting for permission to get my penis inverted. I’ve gotten used to it, though, as I’ve been waiting for years.

Gotta love the medical industry.

The nurse called around noon and said that a couple of numbers were a little low, but she didn’t see anything worrisome. The doctor still hasn’t signed off on it yet, but she didn’t think anything was wrong. The doctor might have me see a neurologist, but I suspect that my problems really do lie in my back problems and weight. I need to lose about thirty pounds.

CRorex, thank you for doing such an important job.
jarbabyj and KellyM, I really hope you get your baby and your surgery soon.
enipla, that sucks. I hate when someone doesn’t seem to care if they take my money or not.

My mother tells me sometimes that the twenty-something hours of labor waiting for me to be born was the longest thing she ever went through …

until she had to wait fifteen minutes for me to start breathing on my own after I was born.

I interviewed for a job I really, really want…

I checked in with the guy about two weeks ago, and got “Hi, we’re still interviewing, I’ll let you know, thanks for checking in.”

Still waiting…

Oh Lord, throatshot, do I know what you mean.

In 1997 I saw a grey spot in the vision of my left eye. A neurologist said, “It might be MS, but don’t worry about it.”

It was the week of my 29th birthday, my husband was on a business trip, we were new to the area so I had no friends. Longest week of my life.

Big hugs, sweetie.

In 1999 I had two sudden massive grand mal seizures. It took several days of medical tests to determine the cause; a cavernous malformation that started leaking blood into my brain. After having surgery to remove the malformation and giving me a few weeks to recover, the neurosurgeon called me back and said he wanted to run a few more MRIs and CT scans.

While examining the original scans they discovered what appeared to be a possible aneurysm near to the point of bursting deep within the brain - a potentially fatal problem. Or, he added, it could just be a blood vessel that is looped. The original photos weren’t clear enough in that area to tell.

He said they didn’t tell me about this so that I could recover from the first surgery without additional worry.

Upon further inspection, the neurologist, neurosurgeon and their associates ruled that it was just a looping blood vessels and not a problem. That was quite a relief after waiting for the results for about 8 days.

BTW, it was not MS. I had mucoceles (balloons of mucus) in my sinuses that were pressing on my optic nerve and had caused bone loss. Extra bonus.

Emergency surgery corrected the problem.

Now, it’s all good in the hood.
