Netflix: Very Long List of Very Long Waits

Just checked my Netflix queue and was startled to see that everything is labeled “Very Long Wait.” Is something up with their site? Does anyone else see this? Am I getting the Ultimate Throttle treatment???

Must be a glitch, I have it too.

FWIW, I have the same problem, so it’s not just you.

I just checked, and mine is showing the same thing. No idea why.

Same here. And most of my list is pretty obscure stuff, so it could be a computer problem like they had a couple of weeks ago.

Interesting, must be a site-wide glitch. I trust it will be back to normal soon.

Mine as well, and it was normal 3 hours ago when I added a few movies. Interestingly, Death Race 2000 really does have a long wait (due to the remake, I guess).

yep, mine too.

Just thought I’d pop in with a dissenting voice: I’m not seeing “very long wait” on any of the movies in my queue. Well, one, but it was “long wait” when I put it in a couple weeks back.

My queue is fine – but I’m waiting for the third disk of the third season of* Project Runway*, which they had to mail from Cleveland, because it wasn’t available at the local center – unlike the last 10 disks (I’ve been on a Project Runway tear). I was wondering how long I could do two disks a week before they started throwing sand under my wheels …

All fine here, except for those that truly are Very Long Waits:

Man of a Thousand Faces
Quackser Fortune Has a Cousin in the Bronx
The Front Page
Fade to Black
Morocco

Mine’s back to normal now, too. Looks like the crisis is over.

I just wish the Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein would go off very long wait. It has been on very long wait for over two months now.

It was related to an update made to the database and it’s explained here. (It only occurred between 11am and 1:30pm Pacific time.)

Don’t worry, I’ve been getting 3 disks a week since 2005. There’s the usual occasional glitch and once in a while something ships from another town, but I’ve never felt like they were trying to slow things down on me. I mail all three every Monday, get the next three on Wednesday, and so on every week. I definitely get my money’s worth, what with the “instant” stuff now too.

I love Netflix! Screw cable!

Thanks for the info, SeaDragonTattoo. I’m on the one at a time, unlimited plans, which usually actually happens as three or four a month – but I’m unemployed at the moment, so have been turning things around quickly, which means two a week, or eight a month – a good deal for me, certainly, and I know their business plan is based on averaging out more active and less active customers.

It was the fact that it was a disk in the middle of a four-disk series that threw me – even if they only have one copy of it (unlikely, Philly is a fairly large market, I’d imagine), what are the odds that the only other copy would be out, given that I’ve been going through these systematically? Why had there been no glitch in any of the disks from Season One, Season Two, or previously in Season Three?

Plus, is it true that the “moon rocks” are actually the petrified turds of Big Foot?
