What is the difference between the two Netscape browsers: Navigator and Communicator? I’ve noticed them mentioned, and I wonder why a company would make on two browsers, instead of just one.
I was under the impression that Navigator is the browser and Communicator refers to the whole suite that includes an e-mail program and an HTML editor among other things.
BobT is correct. Netscape Communicator includes Navigator, Messenger, and Composer as the main components. For a while there was Calendar, but that was a third-party (Steltor) package that Netscape never fully integrated with the rest of the components. It has since been dropped from the Communicator package.
