My birthday’s in May, so it’s toward the end of the schoolyear, but often a school day. I used to try to always take my birthday off from work, but vacation days are always spoken for lately (I’d rather spend a week at the beach anyhoo). School & work for this birthday boy.
My thumb is brown, crisp and wilted; ain’t nothin’ green about it. And yet hope springs eternal. I’ve killed some houseplants in my day.
I have seen American Idol
I have recieved a traffic citation.
and I have have been without any grandparents and great grandparents.
but are you talking about Grandparents or Great-Grandparents?
All my great grandparents were dead before I was born.
Both Grandfathers were dead before I was born.
My maternal grandmother died when I was 9.
My paternal grandmother died when I was 21.
My mother died when I was 24.
24 yrs later, my Dad is doing very well at age 88.
Never have I ever been without a living great-grandparent.
American Idol- watched the auditions once.
Tickets: Guilty as charged.
Great-grandparents… Coincidence, yes!!! Well, since I never met my grandparents (died long before I was born- my paternal gradfather was born 100 years exactly before me!), **I never ever met my great-grandparents **
**I’ve never seen American Idol either (nor harbor any desire to)
And I’ve never gotten a ticket (no car, remember?)
But, I’ve been without great-grandparents. Actually, I’m relatively sure I’ve never had a living great-grandparent, unless there was some overlap as a tot**
I watched a few episodes of “American Idol” back in its first season. SeptemberDay’s always been more fond of it than I have.
It’s been a very long time, but I have received a couple of tickets. One was for rear-ending someone at the end of an interstate off-ramp twelve years ago. We’d both already come to a stop and the car ahead of me started to pull out into traffic. I was looking over my shoulder to see if I could merge in as well and thus didn’t see that the car ahead had stopped suddenly. The other was six years ago when I was working as a courier. I parked for four minutes in a fire line to make a delivery and was nailed during those four minutes.
My family lives a long time. I knew all four of my great-grandmothers and one of my great-grandfathers: Dad’s dad’s dad. Now at age 33 I have one great left: Mom’s mom’s mom, who is 102, completely out of her mind and strong as an ox.
