Never have your dog groomed by Dr. Frankenstein!

My wife brought our Bichon-Mutt Andy to PetsMart on Thursday to be groomed. They have always done a good job in the past. Late in the day, she calls me to say that there was a little problem, the groomer had nicked him when he was squirming, as she was trying to remove some matted hair. He was in the Banfield hospital, and they needed our permission to sedate him to put some stitches in.
I called, and gave them permission, and they said we could get him in an hour or so. When they brought him to us, my reaction was: :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Look at the size of that cut!
The bill from the Vet was over $500, which they paid, of course. My wife said that the groomer was almost in tears, and she wrote us a card, apologizing. She only got part way through the grooming, so he looks a little ridiculous. We need to medicate him for a week, at which point he can go back and have the grooming finished. My wife and I both agree that it has to be the same groomer - there’s no way she going to cut him again!

Poor puppy. :frowning: Hopefully he doesn’t develop a fear of grooming.

A NICK? What the hell were they using to get rid of the mat? A pair of shearing scissors?
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to find out that’s what they used though :\

I take my dog to a private groomer and the worse they’ve done is cut too far on one toenail and it was bleeding like crazy but that’s not unusual. Poor guys were apologizing so much I felt sorry for them.

Aww…poor baby!
