Surely you had some idea when you started this. Do you have any clues?

“Whoops” could have suggested a few things:

  1. War whoops as in Westerns
  2. Whips as pronounced by certain rural types
  3. The universal sound of joy along the lines of “Yippee”
  4. Basketball
  5. a substitute for the universal sound for “uh oh”

But I will confess not getting much of a charge from any of them at this time.

Just idle curiosity.
