Never put your dead deer on the bumper of your truck

Why?
Glad you asked.

I was driving down the NY Thruway to Pennsylvania on Friday and I got stuck behind a Ford F-Series pickup which had a dead buck tied to the trear bumper.

The deer ahd been gutted and had a bag of ice shoved inside, but it was leaking.

A lot.

Onto the hood and windshield of my white Volkswagen Jetta.

I was not happy.   <--------See?

Finally, after about 15 minutes I was able to pull around the truck, and a Ford Explorer slid in behind the truck.

Then the deer fell off the bumper and hit the Explorer.

Liquified pretty much sums it up.

EWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Damn luck was I.

Shouldn’t it really be …

“Never follow a vehicle with a dead deer poorly tied to its back bumper?”

Why not just let the dude get far enough ahead of you so that no leakage would leak onto you?

Where should you put a dead deer?

Just in case I ever happen to be carrying one…

I’m going to be sick.

At least, never follow a leaking dear. Ewwwww!

Well if you’re driving a Ford F-Series pickup ,leechbabe, the box of the truck springs to mind.

Aren’t there laws against things either leaking or falling off your vehicle that affect the driving of others?

I know in Jersey, any unscraped ice or snow can get ya a ticket. But I ask too: Couldn’t you have just sorta slowed down and given enough distance?

I’m not sure if mammalian guts fall under this, tho. . .

Aaah yes, rifle season opened up in NoDak this past weekend too.

Thanks for the advice donkeyoatey, however I would never drive a Ford because if my family didn’t kill me first then my in-laws would. It’s Holden all the way for this leech

Also what is the box of the truck? Is that the boot? I think I’m having some American to Australian translation problems here.

Well, as far as the slowing down thing, problem was that I was kinda boxed in, and the semi-asshat behind me was tailgating and wouldn’t back off.

At least I wasn’t driving the Explorer:D

With the given choice of either blood on the hood/windshield or a rearend fender-bender, I would have opted for the fender-bender. At least I could have vented on the dumbass. . .

But I respect yer choice: gotta do what ya gotta do.

Hmmm, maybe the bed? I’ve always understood the boot of a car to be what I call the trunk. I drive one of these and the box is the cargo area above the rear wheels.

Ahha! and all is revealed, thanks donkeyoatey, thus I shall carry any deer I find in the box of my truck.

Now to find some deer in Melbourne…

ps - I like your username
