Never seen Dr. Who (hangs head in shame). Where to start?

Yes, I know it’s a crime that, if taken before tribunal, will require me to turn in my geek/nerd credentials. :o

So where does one start? Do the various seasons stand alone (not to mention the various Doctors) or will starting at the wrong point result in my getting totally lost?

Start with NuWHo, I’d start with the first modern Doctor, Christopher Eccleston. Start with the ep Rose, which isn’t the strongest of eps, but sets you on your way. By the time you finish The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances, you should be hooked. Don’t worry too much that the actor playing the Doctor changes periodically - each incarnation brings something different to the character. You’ll think you’re going to hate each new Doctor, and you end up loving them.

I had the same question not too long ago; consensus is start with Eccleston 2005.

Also like you I didn’t know its not Dr. Who its Doctor Who.

Have fun, I’m enjoying them tremendously!
