Never Thought I Would be so Happy to See a Cricket Liquified...

After refusing to eat for over 6 months, my tarantula, Pandora, finally decided to start eating again.

As to why she just stopped eating for that long, I have no idea. Frankly, I find it amazing that she was able to live that long without eating. Normally she does that prior to molting, but no molt after she stopped.

I figured I would check on her prior to going to bed, and found, much to my joy, that she had the oddly booger like remains of a cricket (or 4?) wadded up in a ball that she was slowly digesting. Quite lovely. Think booger with cricket legs sticking out.

I wonder if possible to teach her some table manners…

Glad to hear Pandora’s feeling chirpy.

Now if you’ll pardon me whilst I…

HURRRRRRRRRRRRL!!!

modro, where’s the picture? The other dopers post links to pictures of their pets when they start a thread about them - where’s the pic of Pandora?

I don’t have any uploaded unfortunately.

I’ll have to see if I can scrounge up one on the computer tommorow

You know, I was going to come in here and give you a hard time but now I don’t think so!
Even though I am terrified of your little pet I am glad that it is eating.
But can’t you find something else for it to eat? If I send you a jar of live flies would that save a cricket or two? I’ll get my children right on it.

I wasn’t Hungry

(Seriously, I’m glad your little 8-legged friend is happy )

Yeah, actually it would.

She will eat most anything, She’s actually eaten pinky mice before.

Now I just have to figure out how to mail a jar of flies.
And explain to the heathens why they are all running around with butterfly nets and little jars.
Eh, it should keep them out of my hair for a while, so we would be killing to birds with one stone, and less crickets.
