Bumped and re-opened.
We have THREE (count 'em, THREE) “test-our-love” teams this season. That’s gonna be painful…
I like Team Mythbusters, myself. The Hippy Grandparents look cool, but are probably a lost cause from the get-go.
I’m still playing “Who’s the gay one?” with the new lineup of teams. I’m not sure if there IS one. Possibly the son part of the mother/son (Toni & Dallas). For some reason, Dallas is REALLY familiar-looking to me. If he is one of my fellow fegelahs, he hopefully won’t be as bad as Princess Whiney (Patrick) from the first Rob/Amber season.
Team Blonde?
check.
Team Grandparent?
check.
Team Parent-child?
check.
Team Party Boys?
check.
Team Make Our Relationship Strong?
check.
Ok, sorry. Just seems like the producers could shake it up a little more. I think the brother-sister team looks strong.
Hooray for a new season of Amazing Race! Hooray for the return of Phil!
Ahem, having got that over with, the blonde team in the pink sweat suits could be seriously annoying.
The AP story had this…
Van Munster, who is currently scouting locations in Asia for the 14th season (yea!), promised the 13th season will include a series of firsts for the reality competition, including a mistake that ultimately prohibited one team from joining their fellow racers at the finish line…(snip)
Didn’t that happen the first season? A team in Alaska opened their clue and it was “The Amazing Race is Over”?
There aren’t that many other types that haven’t been done… besides strangers, which I think would be awesome, or have it be sponsored by Match - Find Singles with Match's Online Dating Personals Service and have singles matched up for the race. That actually would be pretty damn cool/horrifying.
Yes, it was the first season, when you could actually get several days ahead of the pack. That’s one of the reasons I’m guessing the mistake isn’t anything quite so prosaic as “falling really, really, REALLY far behind”.
I’m guessing major legal problem, lost their passport, detained by Chinese security…something exciting.
Both race threads have now been amazingly merged. (In case you were amazingly confused.)
The falling really far behind happened in another season, though I can’t recall precisely which one. One team found out the news while still on an island mid-Pacific.
Have to like the mod name/post combination. I’m now awaiting a rabbit being pulled out of a hat.
That could be absolutely awesome. Certainly more fun to watch than work-on-our-relationship.
(and rockle…I’m glad to see you’ve got your priorities straightened out.)
I am betting that Andrew & Dan and Kelly & Christy are some of the first ones out. Neither team strikes me as really understanding how hard the race is. The Hippy couple look cool, but I bet they are an early out due to a physical challenge. They may be in good shape from their farming, but that doesn’t necessarily help when doing something new.
I used to work with one of the contestants. I don’t know why anybody would care, but I’d like you guys to know that for some deeply human reason.
Well, you can’t say that and not tell us who! And if they’re worth rooting for (or against!).
I don’t know about being in good shape but I’d bet they don’t have much in the way of lung capacity if you know what I mean.
Oh, sorry, it’s Brooke. I don’t know how good she is at eating bugs, but I do know she shows up to work at a library dressed like a hooker all the time.
Psst - Brooke, if you read this, you probably don’t remember me. It’s okay. But check that slit in the mirror WHILE WALKING, 'kay? And the fishnets? Evening attire. Ditto the shoes.
Oh! You mean the slit in the skirt…
Never mind!
Well, to be quite honest, with the skirt in question you might want to be certain of both, alls I’m sayin’.
Jesus, I do hope she doesn’t read that. I had three glasses of wine. Honestly, she seemed very nice. Just didn’t do the work appropriate wardrobe thing.
Because the Amazing Race often features a Zip Line, and one often gets to spend some time watching people stress over just doing the thing-- this seems like an appropriate place to announce that I recently had a chance to ride a Zip Line and we were assured that it’s much easier if you just do it rather than if you stress over it.
And those who rode the Zip Line all seemed to really enjoy it.
I, however, am a wimp(and am out of shape), and opted out of climbing the climbing wall to get to the Zip Line a short half way up the wall. I couldn’t face climbing a telephone pole and then walking along a balance beam, so I didn’t get to ride the Zip Line.
