New Amazon Series Based on Bob Dylan Songs

Story Here

Apparently this will be a “season anthology” (that is, each season will comprise a complete story essentially unrelated to the stories told in other seasons, like in American Horror Story).

So which Dylan songs/characters do you think could be made into interesting stories for this series? I’m thinking that “Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts” could be developed into a season all by itself.

Just a few to start…

Quinn The Eskimo
Tangled Up In Blue (probably most of the tunes off of BOTT)
To Ramona
Señor

“Isis” would be a good template for a mysterious romantic adventure episode I’d love to see.

Edit: Oh, and “The Man In The Long Black Coat” would make a great character for an episode. If they make a good series out of that, I’d be willing to subscribe to Amazon Prime just to watch it.

You could build an entire season out of one verse of “Highway 61 Revisited”.

Hollis Brown: this would be an extremely dark story line, though.

Like A Rolling Stone would be a winner.

A real challenge would be to come up with a story line for Subterranean Homesick Blues. Come to think of it, perhaps Breaking Bad covered that one.

I’d love to see a dramatization of “Bob Dylan’s 115th Dream”.

Other obvious ones:

Motorpsycho Nitemare
Ballad in Plain D
Hurricane
Percy’s Song
The Drifter’s Escape
The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest

Already been a movie done on Rubin “Hurricane” Carter.

Yeah, that could be quite funny. Another candidate for a funny, yet apocalyptic episode would be “Talking World War Three Blues”.

One song per episode or per season?

It’s a pity that Fellini is dead, I bet he could handle a dramatization of “Desolation Row” quite well. And “Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues” would make for a good, sleazy border story.

Not completely sure. All the article says is:

So they might not be following the plot of any one song, just weaving in concepts and characters from the body of Dylan’s work.

It already exists.

All Along the Watchtower could be interesting.

In Black Diamond Bay I would love to know the backstories of the woman in the Panama hat, the Greek, the desk clerk, the soldier, the tiny man, and the gambler.

Lots of possibilities

Romance in Durango
Changing of the Guards
Black Diamond Bay
Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts
Ballad of a Thin Man

Sounds like a fun project

Desolation Row might be a season unto itself

Wow, yes, that could be a great one.

Well, inspired by this thread, I’m listening to Bringing It All Back Home right now, so if they are looking for characters, the black Madonna two-wheeled gypsy queen from Gates Of Eden must be considered, she was always a favorite of mine and I’d love to see her pictured. Another character that shouldn’t be missing in the series’ universe is of course Mr. Tambourine Man.

I have to stop know, Dylan threads always make me do binge posting :D.

Hell, that could be a mini-series.
