But wouldn’t that be an ass with the right angle?
Heh heh heh. I’ll be here all week folks.

I was watching Scooby Doo one weekday morning with my six year old and was
shocked when this commercial played:
I, for one, love this commercial.
For those of you who haven’t seen it:
Sir Mix A Lot’s “Baby Got Back” is playing.
The Burger King King starts rapping, changing the lyrics from “Baby Got Back” to comments on Spongebob Squarepants, having Square pants.
Clips of Spongebob, and Burger King King Rapping (And DJ ing) are intermixed.
The Best part of the ad comes at the end:
Burger King King (In rap) " Hey Spongebob, I want to get wit cha, cause you making me rich cha.
BKK “Buger king wants me to seal the deal, 99 cents, get a toy and a kids meal.”
Then, The camera is shown on who I believe to be Sir Mix a Lot Himself. [I assume that this implies that Mix signed off, and approves the use of his song.]
Mix A Lot (Talking): Booty is Booty
Here is why I like the commercial:
You can not point to the target market.
In 30 seconds, Burger King Hits 3 different Markets.
Parents are going to like the 99 Cent Kids meal with Combo Purchase Offer.
Later 20 somethings and Early 30 somethings are going to like that Baby Got Back is on TV again.
The kids, and Meeko will like the fact that Spongebob is in the commercial.
The kids, and NOT Meeko will like the fact that they still get a toy in their meal.
All you other fellas can’t deny that this commercial does a LOT in 30 seconds, and it does it WELL.
(Even if Phone book implants are rectangular, not square.)
What is your take on the ad?
[Mod Hat On]
I’ve merged the two threads.

The commercial is stupid as hell and it’s earned a place on my “mute immediately” list after two showings. A coworker of mine who has kids told me he doesn’t find it inappropriate, but thinks it’s repulsive.
[Nitpic from a parent subjected to WAY to much SpongeBob]Pearl calls him “SpongeBob NudiePants”.[/NfapstWtmSB]
*mumbles bitterly about Spazurek
Well… there WAS the episode where SpongeBob injures his butt (fairly common theme in SB, actually, butts… so the commercial is not entirely OOC) and he’s paranoid to try to protect it. Of course his trip home from the doctor is fraught with booty-peril, culminating in a line stretching over the horizon where he’s asked if he wants to join the Spanking Machine. SpongeBob flees, but then artistically-minded (if not -gifted) Squidward comes into the scene…
Squidward: “Is this where the line starts?”
…
You had to see it. Still, there is a little bit of that naughty element in the show. And no, I don’t think your average kid is going to make the connection to the masochistic delights of your average spanking machine.
I feel much the same about this commercial. Goofy. Kinda dumb. Harmless.
DAMMIT! I just left L.A. where there were PLENTY of JitB & came home to Indiana where there are none. I want one of those!
That said, yeah- THIS was during Kids’ Time on TV?!?!
Ok, one–I don’t think this is showing on Cartoon Network Saturday mornings (or whatever kids watch these days). I’ve seen the commercial twice now, once during Breaking Bad and once just now while my wife watching the Soap channel.
Secondly, people need to just get a grip. One of the favorite shows I watched, on network TV, Saturday mornings, was Pee Wee’s Playhouse. I just thought it was goofy and fun. Now when I see an episode (on HBO, late at night, of course  ), it kind of wows me. In a “how the hell did this ever get past anybody?” kind of way. Talk about innuendo. And as kids, we had NO IDEA (maybe a vague one, but it certainly didn’t make us want to have sex with each other, any more than we already did, anyway). Good grief, adults really tend to project WAY too much of their own cultural baggage onto kids. Do any 5-10 year olds even have any concept of where that song came from and what the original lyrics were and what they meant? No way.
