Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking of returning to New Caledonia ever since my last visit there (approx 20 years ago!). I read an article in Qantas’ in-flight magazine this week that reminded me of my desire to go back.
My recollections are of beautiful pristine beaches with blue blue blue water. I visited the web site recommended in the article (www.arcenciel-voyages.nc) and there’s a whole lot more to NC that my 11-year-old self never even noticed.
So - who here has been to NC? I would like to take my sweetie with me, so I’m looking for suggestions to do stuff as a couple, but without making the trip solely about us.
I love the beach, she likes it too. I really like most water scenery (lakes, rivers, waterfalls etc). She likes that stuff too. She likes the idea of camping, as do I. I also like stepping out a little - going to swanky restaurants, eating amazing food and going for seaside strolls afterwards. She likes SCUBA diving, reefs etc. We both like things like aquariums, zoos etc.
Oh god, this sounds like a personals ad!
So - I am looking for suggestions of stuff that must not be missed, stuff that’s fun, a bit of escapism. If you have experience with tour operators or the like, I’d like to hear about it. I like the idea of being shown around but still having time to explore on our own. Suggestions for romantic getaways would be welcome too
