New CBS Ronald Reagan movie appears wildly biased - What does CBS gain with this?

I hated the Reagan/Bush administration at the time (probably still do), but I will at least acknowledge the economic improvements during that time:

Growth in Gross Domestic Product
1980: -0.3
1989: 3.4

Unemployment Rate
1980: 7.1
1989: 5.3

Inflation Rate
1980: 12.4
1989: 4.6

And the greatest president of the first half of the twentieth century was ::Tah-Dah!:: Calvin “The business of America is business” Coolidge? Or maybe Herbert Hoover?

The answer to the OP is obviously that lots of people will tune in either to revel in seeing Reagan pilloried or to rant at those who do. The result will be big ratings. That’s what TV is for, isn’t it?

What is wrong with this? What then is the buisness of America?

I don’t want to hijack the thread any further, but I think the business of government is to provide a safe and secure environment for its people. Prosperity is part of it, too, but not the biggest part, especially if it means “trickle down.” Color me liberal. That’s just what I think.

What, don’t any of the resident conservative Dopers want to complain about that Hollywood liberal piece of trashy cinema, “DC 9/11: Time of Crisis”?

Or is “wildly biased” works acceptable when they suck up to your sacred cows?

Jazz dance.

Actually, Teddy Roosevelt, with FDR a close second. But thanks for playing. Rod, tell him about our wonderful consolation prizes…

GREATEST. MOVIE PITCH. EVER.

An article written by Douglas W. Kmiec, one of Reagans constitutional legal advisors, about Reagans response to the AIDS crisis.

This hatchet job on Reagan ought to die a quiet death (which it probably will). Imagine: Ronald Reagan was RESPONSIBLE for the AIDS epidemic! His wife Nancy was a psychotic bitch who consulted astrologers!
Lets face it, people know that Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century, and this smarmy little smear job won’t change this.
But , for all you reagan haters…was the astrology thing true? Who was the strologer…and what did he/she tell the Reagans to do? (The whole thing sounds like something made up by democratic party speachwriters).

It wasn’t a Reagan hater, ralph124c.

Former chief of staff Donald Regan revealed in his 1987 memoir For the Record: From Wall Street to Washington that Nancy Reagan dictated the president’s schedule after consulting her personal astrologer, Joan Quigley:

More from Donald Regan’s memoir:

I believe I saw Nancy admit it on a History Channel episode of The 20th Century with Mike Wallace. I’m sorry, I can’t site which episode it was.
