When the weather National Weather Service tried to cover for tRump on the hurricane track, several scientists took a bad hit for ethics violations. They deserved it in my view. Now CDC is revising a guidance because tRump dislikes it. To me this is a disaster. If science is politicized to this extent nothing will be trustworthy in our culture. Getting fired is scary but being a scientist known for having no principles is worse. What can we do to reverse this trend once tRump is out? How do we help folks fight political pressures like this?
