Since I seem to have become the Unofficial Keeper of the Chick Tracts, here’s Heart Trouble. “The heart is deceitful above all things,” and it’s apparently a monster, too! Plus, a new “black tract,” Fame, an African-American version of the recent The Star. I can see this Samuel L. Jackson type-character doing a nude scene much more plausible than the bizarre Ricardo Monalban figure in the original. (Open up both tracts in two different windows and switch back and forth- watch the white people turn into black people! They just basically drew new heads. It’s pretty bizarre.)
“another slimy creature called fornication”
“These things slither out from time to time” ?
That’s heartworm. See a vet.
Grrr…
I seem to recall him using the same method to ebonify another strip; I’m amused to note that what I thought was the pure, gleaming presence of God has also been re-touched. Either that or they lowered the wattage on his head a bunch.
As for the other, all I can say is: Holy Hippocratic oath batman! Note also in that strip that the doctor just busts right out with the evangelism, ignoring even the pretence of a reason. Perhaps Chick characters have some sort of gaydar for sinners. :dubious:
This is what happens when you let Bob Jones University give out medical degrees.
It is weird isn’t it - not only did they draw new heads, the black people that were already in the scenes are coloured in a bit darker.
Is it just me or does the woman that the patient wants to have an affair with look like Joe Camel?
Chick is getting really mellow. THIS tract is in the Pit?
Or if it automatically Pit-worthy when Jack writes anything?
I’ll bet that doctor sends his biopsies to this guy.
The Doctor has no bedside manners. I would have walk out of there as soon as he start preaching. Highly unrealistic.
Why the hell does it matter that the Pathologist is Evangelical? Does Dead tissue need to be baptised or go to church or newd preaching?
Do you feel that most or all of what Chick writes is an accurate and meaningful expression of Christian principles? If these are not such, it seems rather Pitworthy to me.
It’s an SDMB tradition, in place as long as I’ve been here – the Pit is the keeper of the Chick.
Silly Friar, Chicks are for Pits!
But Adam and Eve ate an apple, and that’s supposed to be good for your heart.
I’m so confused…
Although, from the way that it’s drawn it could be a pastrami sandwich…
He phoned this one in. Where’s the bigotry? Where’s the fire? All we get is a happy heart. D- at best.
True, but there is a doctor giving out unsolicited religious advice. That has to at least count for something.
I love the "grrr"ing heart! I want one as a pet!
Whatever Adam and Eve are eating, it looks like pine cones.
