LIFE magazine released another batch of D Day color photos from their archives. Some are of the celebrations as towns got liberated.
The most interesting to me is what looks like an amphibious car. Note the boat shape. What the heck was it called? That’s not a jeep.
There’s also a rare photo of recently captured Germans. I haven’t seen many pictures of POW’s before. Doesn’t the Geneva Convention prohibit photos of them in a disrespectful manner? This photo is respectful.
