I’m trying to find a list of New Deal era programs which were aimed at small farmers (particularly in states hit by the Dust Bowl). I’d be most interested in programs that had a Catch-22 aspect to them. It’s for a story I’m working on. Does anyone know of any good reference works? Or if you want to list a specific program, that’s cool too. It can be either a state or Federal program. Thanks for the help.
Have you seen the book The American Farmer and the New Deal, by Theodore Saloutos? (Iowa State University Press, 1982.)
Also check out the National Archives Library Information Center website on New Deal Agriculture.
Thanks for the response, Kimstu.
