This just in (although I have received a few like this in the last month):
Fixed typo in title.
“Thе most interesting еvidencе thаt I stolе- its a videotaре with yоur masturbation.”
I would check your videotape collection to see if it’s still there before sending any money.
How on earth do these thieves fit a videotape through an ethernet cable?
Lossless compression.
If he’s from japan it’s probably Betamax and no one can play it.
GaryM
What’s the point of masturbating if it’s lossless?
I commend the scammer for using the word “deletеriоus”.
I sure with someone would pay me for a video of my masturbation. What a gold mine.
Ok, I suppose I’ll start masturbating to something more wholesome, just in case.
“I moved to Japan from Nigeria.”
Oh, that’s a common one that’s going around now. More often, they claim to have stolen this from your phone.
Apparently, it fools enough people into sending money to them that it’s worthwhile sending this spam.
I think they do this faulty English as a filter. Anyone who fails to see through it is a good mark.
I can play it. Certainly wouldn’t want to, but I can.
Reply - I have sent your btc address 1QEA2toyPWcsSgh4jLNapQC8uabfUaMSy to the FBI. Thank you for volunteering this information.
Seriously though, could BitCoin help out if you gave them this info?
I’ve heard the same. Makes sense.
It has occurred to me that there HAS to be a way to make money by editing and rewriting spam for foreign nationals. For a reasonable fee, I’d be happy to make corrections and revisions that make it look like the spam was written by a middle-class citizen of the good ol’ USA. I don’t know if this would be a help to ALL spammers, but it might make a few recipients stop laughing long enough to give the e-mail some serious consideration.
My other idea to make some easy money is to hire myself out to directors, producers, and other production staff to ensure that “cemetery” is never again spelled with an “a.” (Director to PA: “You had ONE job on this production…get a sign for the cemetery that’s spelled correctly. Now we don’t have time to get it changed.”)
One of the principles of BTC is that it is anonymous. BTC would have no idea who is behind that address. As long as they have the private key, they own the ledger entries.
Scammers deliberately write badly. They don’t want perfect English. Send to me $35US in BTC and explain I will why.
The best part is “You have 24 hours from this moment.”
It works the same way as the ads on TV that give you a bonus if you call within the next hour.
