Congratulations! He is, indeed, a gorgeous pup.
While I am very sorry for the circumstances, I’m always happy when things work out like this. Pup didn’t have to go to the shelter, the lady knows her pup has a good home, and you have a new friend.

We’re all happy so far. He runs everywhere.
Our girl Luna doesn’t lick often, but when she does she sometimes gets locked into a compulsive pattern of licking and goes at it nonstop. I typically just gently guide her head away a time or two, and if necessary move the freshly-polished body part out of reach, and she gives up with a little sigh.
The licking problem may resolve itself as he gets more used to his surroundings. For some (I’m tempted to say “most”) dogs licking, like yawning, can be a stress reducer.
I know it can be a stress reliever. Perhaps after he’s been with us for a week or two it might lessen somewhat. We don’t mind some licking as long as it’s not excessive. Of course what is excessive varies with individuals.
He’s a very handsome boy. Congrats!
