You better believe I continue to be very nice to my wife, although some friends of ours sent her an “Edible Arrangement” which is a real fancy name for a bouquet of chocolate-covered strawberries on sticks.
My wife knitted the hat.
Yeah, it was an ordeal. Fortunately, my wife is tough as nails, and I’m not a bad birth coach if I do say so myself (Bradley method rules, incidentally), and we also had my sister in law who’s a PA-C to have a known face in the delivery room who could translate from doctor to human.
We’ve been out of the hospital for a while, actually–**j00licious **was outta there less than 48 hours after the birth. Tough as nails, like I said.
The name’s Amelia.
vote NAF.
And yeah, my Dad told me “hey, dad’s you now. Ain’t that somethin’?” And yeah, it is.
1)Amelia is a beautiful name.
2) Welcome to the Dad club, since I forgot to mention it in my last post
3) YAY for natural childbirth and the Bradly method
4) OMGUS! Vote Z
We didn’t quite make it all-natural–we had an epidural after about 15 hours of back labor in which my dear wife’s blood pressure hit 188/120 during a particularly rough contraction. The techniques STILL helped, though.
That’s a beautiful little baby, and I know my babies, since I see about 50 or 60 of them a week in the Baby Story Times I do at my library. Congrats! Get her a book to chew on.
