I was at the Doctor’s this morning and she mentioned this newly approved drug. The various writeups about it say that it partially activates nicotine receptors in your brain so you have less cravings and that if you do smoke while on it, you may get less satisfaction, helping to break the cycle.
A couple of my coworkers are using it and both say only good things about it.
The male coworker said that it’s made quitting a LOT easier for him - he wanted to quit anyway, but this has just made it so that he doesn’t want one most of the time, so that he’s not fighting the mental desire for one and could focus on the physical.
The female coworker said basically the same thing, but has also pointed out that she’s noticed a decreased appetite as well.
Once I get into see my regular Doc I’ll be giving it a try. I’ll report back then. We have so many people on the boards struggling with trying to quit smoking.
