Whoopie pies.
doesn’t Friendly’s have some kind of takeout sweet you could send?
Ditto Cape Cod chips, salt water taffy, cornbread and how about cranberry something?
Tricorn hat? Bag of sand? Mini lighthouse? Swizzle stick with red plastic lobster on the tip? Old T ticket? Vermont Country Store catalog?
I got nothing.
Joe Froggers. They’re not exactly my favorite, but they’re a New England tradition: http://www.yankeemagazine.com/recipes/search/onerecipe.php?number=637 Some people use sea water in the recipe, but I’ve never tried that.
Interestingly enough, you can get good cranberry stuff…well, not locally, but in southwest Washington. They grow 'em there.
If she’s looking for food, she can find decent NY/NJ pizza at A New York Pizza Place (in the Maple Leaf neighborhood, on 5th and about 85th…though I prefer Village Pizzeria in Langley (on Whidbey Island). I’m not familiar with New Haven style pizza, so I can’t speak to that. Additionally, the cheesesteaks at Philadelphia Fevre (on Madison at about 23rd) are worth a visit.
If she has particular questions, feel free to pass inquiries along.
