New Eureka and Warehouse 13 tonight

I never said the cancellation was a rumor; perhaps I should have been more clear. That press release only confirms that the show is cancelled, and that the final- and fifth - season will air ‘next year’ (2012). Syfy hasn’t yet said WHEN next year it’s going to air - and the chances are about 98% it’ll be July, like always. The show’s producers, writers, and actors haven’t said anything else yet - and if there were a January air date planned, they’d be all over it at this point as that’s only a month away. From what Jamie Paglia has said, the fifth season episodes are still in post-production.

I think I’m done with Warehouse 13. When this showed up on the DVR I dutifully started it but kind of just wandered away a few minutes later.

No, I got that. I knew that Eureka’s fifth season will be its final one. But I was 99% sure that I had read on Wiki that the new season starts on January 17, 2012. But now it’s not there. You’re right, the seasons have always started in July, so that seems to be the most likely date.

S’okay, sometimes I associate things in odd ways.

I thought Eureka started slow, but it picked up towards the end and it was amusing to me and my wife.

Warehouse 13 was fun from the start. I think Pete would have realized sooner that he was in the grip of an artifact and would not have made as many missteps regarding people not recognizing him. Best episode of the evening, and again my wife agreed.

Haven started with a surfer getting sliced in half which, for a XMas episode, is a real downer. It never picked up from there. By the end, I was ready for Audrey to close up shop, leave the kid with her snowglobe, and head to another town. Troubles over.

you would also ‘think’ that they would be required to wear the purple gloves anytime they are in the warehouse - or would have some other type of protective gear.

But either of those two would greatly cut down on the amount of fun that is had in the warehouse.

I was confused about the W13 episode. Where does this fit in timeline wise? Last I heard, W13 was a smoking crater in the badlands, Mrs. Frederick was dead, along with Artie’s dog too.

I’ve had W13 on auto record on the dvr, I’d be surprised if I missed an episode that cleared all that up.

It does not fit in to the current timeline - those issues have not yet been resolved.

However, the dog is alive and playing with the Fish.

I think having him think it was McPherson who was the one affecting people with artefacts was a reasonable way to misdirect Pete at first.

at the very beginning, he thought it was a prank by artie, then he decided it was ‘long dead mcphereson’ causing issues - not sure why he thought the dead dude was doing something in real time, but, hey, its Pete.

The Warehouse 13 episode was good enough, although as the years go by, I am finding it harder and harder to muster up a lot of enthusiasm for yet another spin on It’s A Wonderful Life. Last year’s Christmas special, on the other hand, didn’t rely on a tried-and-true holiday tale and holds up much better as a result.

The direction I was hoping this episode would go in involved a good MacPherson trying to help Pete fix what happened while an evil Artie interfered.

My problem with Warehouse 13 is that after several years I can’t get behind any story that relies on one of them having cavalierly touched a random artifact they’re not familiar with.

I emphasizes that, all protestations otherwise notwithstanding, they’re idiots.

Or, at a minimum, make sure the artifact that can erase your existence instantly with a touch isn’t just sitting on an open shelf. Maybe put it in a secure enclosure, like a shoebox with a rubber band around it.

Didn’t much care for Eureka, but I quite enjoyed W13.

Although I agree- WTF with Myka’s hair? She has such beautiful hair, normally- who thought it’d be a good idea to iron it flat?
