I’ve been sitting here playing it for about an hour, and I want to BASH their little turnip HEADS into the GROUND. Heh…so yeah, it is just as fun as his other stuff.
I’m not getting it yet.
I thought I got it, but apparently it changes each time? This is going to be a bad addiction.
Right. That’s where I was screwed too. I tried a few combinations (read: chaotic dumping).
The key is figuring out which one goes in the middle. Once you’ve got that, the rest are easy enough. But the middle one…gah!
I know. Stupid little turnip-headed motherfuckers.
First go through and find which one can bear 4 different neighbors. Put that in the middle, and put two neighbors in a corner, then fill that corner, switching if need be, and repeat.
Finally…I had to take some time, count to ten, and eat some cheetos. Finally managed to score an “E”.
Yea! I won. Rank E, 99 drags.
On about my 5 or sixth try–other times having given up before I accomplished anything. Or at least before I figured out which one could be the middle one.
I actually managed to get Rank B once, but only once. It was 20 drags and sheer dumb luck that I managed to find the middle turniphead so fast.
The way I did it was to take each one and see who they go next to. That is, take the first one on the right, say white, put him on the board. Then take each one going left, put him next to the first. If they go together, write it down on a scrap piece of paper. Do that for all of them. Then, it’s easy. You don’t even have to go through every single one that way. Of course, I got an E doing that, but hey it works, and it’s probably the best way to do it. (I was lucky enough to find the center one first)
If someone comes up with a better algorithm, do tell.
I seem to generally be able to get at least a D or higher if I set one turnip head in the center, and then start trying to figure out which ones go next to it. If I find a turnip head that only allows two to go next to it, then that guy obviously goes in a corner. Find the turnip head that goes with the two on either side of the corner one and you’ve found the center piece. Or, you might find the center piece before you find a corner piece. Either way, it leads towards more quickly solving it.
Following CaerieD’s latest tips, I just got a D. The funny thing was that the very last one I put into place was the center piece.
Got 22 and a C second try. Got lucky, I think, because I just trial-and-errored it.
15 clicks, Rank A, sheer dumb luck.
E rank, 80 drags. Rhiow was alarmed at the noises the game made.
I get a kick out of the Grow CUBE game
I played HATCH for hours, trying to get every single reward. (saved my progress, I am missing 4, 5 and 20-24)
But while this is fun, just doesn’t have the replay value as all the other games.
I can’t wait for another Grow game!
Edit: OMG I found one I haven’t played!
