Not sure, but I guess this is one of the drugs they had in mind when they made this announcement. Olysio:

I’m cautiously optimistic about the new treatments, having personally shepherded dozens of patients through up to a year of hell with interferon and ribavirin, only to see maybe a 50% cure rate.

Right now, our health system (the state prison system, that is) is postponing starting treatment on the most stable patients in anticipation of the new drugs.

I’ve been disappointed in teleprevir, though. Cure rates on it are higher, but we get about 50% dropout from treatment because the side-effects are sooooo horrendous. And the damn stuff makes interferon look cheap by comparison.

Darn. What am I going to compare my melanoma treatment with now?
