Well actually the Hepatitis C virus is down to below 1,000 copies in my blood stream ! That counts as being undetectable in the mad, mad world of Hep. . That means I am officially in remission ! :: doing the happy, happy, joy, joy dance ::
We continue treatment for another 5 months and then stop and see if I relapse again. So keep your fingers toes and maybe some naughty bits crossed for me ! I’ll want pictures of the naughty bits !

We knew I was a responder to interferon alone from my two year stint on it. We are hoping the addition of the anti-viral will keep me from another relapse. And there are a couple of new treatments in the testing stages now that look promising.
I am keeping but hopes up that I won’t relapse, but after the last time I have to keep in mind that it is possible so that should it happen, I won’t be as shattered.
I would like to thank several dopers who have emailed me that my posts helped them decide to be tested. Most were negative and I rejoice in that. But you all may not be aware that I am not the only board member who has this. It has saddened me to hear from others who have found out they have it, yet it also makes me glad I post about about this. With knowledge comes power. And treatment can’t be started until you know. So please if at all possible be tested ! All of you !
I’m crossing my fingers, toes (some are crossed naturally already), leg hairs, eyes, and … umph… errrggghhh… YOUCH… haaaaaaa… my testicles.
