Late to the party. Congratulations on the new cat!
She’s like the mirror image of my cat. His grey swoop is across the other eye.
nice settling in. taking charge of the bed.
Very cute!
What a sweetiepie! I’m glad she is settling in so well and I hope you have many happy years together.
She’s adorable!!
The smart little kitty figured out where we keep the kitty treats. Had to move them elsewhere to keep her from climbing atop the fridge (via the stove).
Aw, she’s a good-looking girl!
Claimed a spot in the big tree.
I guess this means there won’t be any fighting over the top spot. I tried putting her up there once; wanted back down right away.
According to her medical records, Holiday was originally designated “Church 4”; educated guess: she was the fourth cat captured on some church property in the Christiansburg, VA, area.
Well, there is some hostility but it’s just the occasional hissing, primarily on the part of Midnight. There has been one instance of them batting paws
Midnight has been primarily confined to the master bedroom since Holiday was brought over by her foster family; they have switched places a couple of times, one of which wasn’t our idea. We put up a metal gate in the bedroom’s entryway to further control their interaction; they get their moist food on opposite sides of the gate. On the bright side, neither has tried to attack the other though the gate. Most recently, they nearly touched noses between the slats.
I’m very late but want to say Welcome, Holiday! She’s a sweetie, I can tell. And I love her name!
Oh, Holiday had her first visit to our vet last week, which was covered by the rescue group. She’s healthy but needs dental work; the vet okayed putting that off until December, when we can better fit such an expense into our budget.
The radio station streaming audio I listen to while working has been running a station promo which features a very loud cat meow. She hears that just fine and looks around to see where the other cat is.
awwww, cute!
Can she hear food landing in a bowl from the other side of the house?
How are she and Midnight getting along?
– and thanks for the update!
She’s already in the kitchen before that happens.
Still standoffish.
They’re now getting along well enough that we started letting Midnight out from behind the gate more often. She still gives a “back off” hiss when she doesn’t feel like having Holiday get too close.
Holiday seems to want to play but Midnight typically isn’t interested.
Awww.
Holiday will have dental surgery at the end of the month. We had to temporarily switch dry food due to mistiming shipments of their prescription food; we think the alternate food bothers her teeth.
They’re back on the prescription dry food – which is really for Midnight – with no problem.
