I had to keep myself from whooping it up at work. I gots goose bumps! Faves include Aragorn entering a castle, injured but determined; Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas surrounded by the Riders of Rohan; Gandalf the White and Shadowfax; ALL the army shots; the orc close ups; Frodo and Sam meet Faramir; the Tower of Orthanc; and TREEBEARD!
Most-looked-forward-to scene, even if I don’t know if it’s going to be in the movie:
ENTS TRASHING ISENGARD!
Other scenes I’m panting for, and I know they’re in the movie:
1: Fighting in the ranks among the various orc factions as they’re transporting Merry and Pippin across the plains. 2: Gollum/Smeagol having his split-personality argument of conscience with himself.
Your first spoiler is most definitely in the movie! Even though it was not described in any detail in the books, it’s in the movie in all it’s raging glory! As far as I know, no pics have been released of this scene, so we will just have to wait until the movie.
My mate bought tickets lat night to see the preview on the Thursday, in a gallery seat at a UCI cinema (these are by far the best cinema seats ever, complete with free popcorn, nachos and drink ) anyway, now it turns out he meant to order tickets for the Friday as he can’t make the Thursday showing! He’s phoning tomorrow to get them changed (fingers crossed).
Ok, you guys inspired me to do my first-ever purchase of movie tickets online. It opens on a Wednesday, and I’m unable to take time off so close to Christmas, so we’re going to the next Sunday’s matinee at an AMC. I’m sneaking some lembas in, as it plays right through the lunch hour. Hee hee – got the ticket printout right here. That’s pretty damned slick.
I am so proud of myself. I clicked on the Treebeard link, and managed to STOP before looking at it. I want to see it fresh on the 18th. Have my tickets for 10:30 a.m. Half my department is going the first day; the other half the second. Whee! (And only $3.50 a ticket…)

Well Primate, you may have succeeded this time, but I assure you the Treebeard link will keep calling you, and slowly draw you back to it. Resistance is futile!
When I saw FOTR last March (for roughly the 7th or 8th time) and they had the Two Towers trailer at the end, with the brief shot of Treebeard, I was bouncing in my seat like the Geekiest of Tolkien Geeks. My best friend, Patty, was with me, and she turned to me and said, “Well, Merry Christmas to Rose!”
I have tickets for the 8pm show on opening night at the Union Square theater in NYC. I’m going with 3 friends, but if any of you NYC Dopers have tix for the same show, let me know.
Woo, here are a few more pix just added to that Czech website. This is a strange website: they keep adding more new images, and as they do, the older ones get pushed back to subsequent pages. Therefore, look quickly to see the latest, but be warned – there are some major spoilers in this last batch, guys.
