Where do cows get the calcium that goes into their milk? Are they supplemented, or is grass loaded with Ca?
Before green grasses undergo the reproductive cycle that creates the grains they contain about the same vitamins and minerals as dark green vegetables…Calcium for example.
The other theory is that ruminants absorb calcium via their hooves through osmosis.
You have to test your forage for calcium and phosphorus, and if there isn’t enough, the cows have to have supplements, just like any other lactating mammals required to put out at about 500% capacity over and above what Mother Nature intended.

I have a new milk question - is New Milk like New Coke? Did they go reformulating this, too?
Reformulated milk, Smeghead? Is that supposed to reduce CO and HC emissions?
i thought that’s what those lactaid pills do. hmmm.
