New movie "Vaxxed" reopens discussion about the link between autism and vaccines

We already knew that shit, are you also planning on informing us that water is wet?

These anti-vaxxers are almost as bad as Holocaust deniers. When presented with cold hard facts, they refuse to believe them.

It’s quite fascinating to watch, really, if it weren’t so sad and children were getting sick and dying over preventable diseases.

They’re the same. CTers go whole hog. At least for antivaxers, I wish they could all be prosecuted successfully and spend real time in the hoosegow.

He was kinda overt about not really wanting to hear anyone’s view or evidence, was never interested in responding. It was clearly just promoting a movie.

(If someone had pulled this kind of stunt with an actual physical product to push, I expect it might not have been let run to this length.)

But everybody took the bait.

I think the, ‘Why would he come talk were he actually a fraud?’, question, was actually an attempt to go a second round. Seems soooo disingenuous!

Just my opinion, of course. I could be wrong about that part!

And as is typical in and thread where women are discussed, our resident village idiot as got to prove he’s still a fucking adolescent.

Look asshole: it’s in GQ, the mod has already said to knock off the titty jokes and you’re not as fucking clever as you think. My 12-year-old students can make wittier comments.

Go back to writing comments on youtube where you belong.

Oh name calling. So big of you. And you wonder why I dont reply?

No, we don’t wonder at all. We know the reason - you’re an idiot. It isn’t name calling, it’s a simple observation about your cognitive abilities with respect to vaccines and charlatans.

Because you are a lying sack of shit who had no intention of engaging in an honest discussion in the first place?

My final thoughts.

If somebody was to ask me today “Do vaccines cause autism?” I’d say - No.

I know, surprising but please read on.

Autism is a complex diagnosis and only one part of the autism spectrum of disorders. I feel that even if my son was not vaccinated he would still be on the spectrum although at a much lesser degree. Also that the massive rise in the rates of children being diagnosed with autism has more to do with how children are diagnosed rather than a single cause (like vaccines).

However I have come to the conclusion that getting numerous vaccines all at one time at a critical age for certain children alters the body chemistry and can cause vaccine induced injuries such as physical and mental issues which makes autism much worse. Examples are gastrointestinal disorders that affect brain chemistry. Sort of like how a person can be very run down and weak and that makes catching many diseases more dangerous.

So in conclusion I do not feel vaccines in themselves cause autism but can make it much worse.

About your “feelings”…

I know I’m already flogging a deceased equine at this point, but again, what qualifies you to come to this conclusion? (Hint, reading blogs on the internet doesn’t count.)

All the medical studies show that your feelings about vaccines are wrong and dangerous. You aren’t interested in learning why your feelings are wrong and you’ve brought nothing of value to the conversation.

If only.

And on that note, Urbanredneck just branded himself as a “Feelie” here is Science Writer Peter Hadfield on how your feelings should never be a substitute for science. One only needs to substitute the climate change deniers with anti-vaccers.

The feelie system requires:

You see, no evidence or results needed to justify your feelings! And even when they manage to point at some evidence it is clear that the evidence pointed at by the “junk science feelie” is many times contradictory to their point of view.

The same tactics and misleading information that ignores evidence and test results is being used by anti vaccine idiots, they are relying on “nothing more that feelings”.

Why would you bother to ask questions of a person who lies for profit?

Cross examination?

Sure you want your final thoughts to be this stupid?

You have based your conclusions on bullshit. Worse, easily debunked bullshit.
Let me help.

When a scientist falsifies data in a report, then that scientist cannot be trusted about science issues. Ever again. Never again can you count on anything this ‘scientist’ has to say. Period, full stop. That person’s integrity is gone. It cannot be gotten back.

If a child caretaker is proven to have molested a child, then you can never let that caretaker watch another one of your kids. EVER. Doesn’t matter that they say they have repented their sins or served their time. Would you leave your kids with him\her? Even if this person says the words you want to hear? No. They are forever out of the child care business. Anyone who leaves their child with this person is an idiot.

Same with Wakefield. Anyone who listens to him on science matters is an idiot.

Which brings us to you. You stroll in with a stupid OP. Nothing wrong with that. Ignorance is not a crime or anything. But lots of folks have brought you truth. They brought facts. They have brought knowledge! And you have discounted it. Your ignorance is willful. So you are an idiot. Or you are a troll.

You are the embodiment of the Dunning–Kruger effect

But…but…he has feeeeeeelings about it! Fuck the actual science and scientists. He has a feeling!

Here’s the thing I’ve never understood about this idiotic bunch of so-called ‘believers in the anti-vax’ movement… if you asked me if I’d rather have a live child with autism versus a dead child with whooping cough / polio / whatever, to would definitely think the answer would be a no-brainer even if there was a link between vaccinations and autism. It just boggles the mind how these morons are going to bring back diseases long eradicated, just because they’re idiots who probably can’t even spell science.

I think only two good, if you will, things will come out of all this lunacy: 1.) The next time we have the opportunity to get rid of something deadly with a vaccine, I bet there’ll no longer be any personal exemptions allowed to skip it. And 2.) I pray that anyone who does violate that, will be held responsible and punished as a murderer if their actions results in another’s death. If those things end up being the case, then this bullshit will stop.

Presumably, they don’t know anyone who’s died of whooping cough / polio / whatever, so it doesn’t seem like as real a threat to them.

People are notoriously bad at judging the relative dangers of different risks via intuition.
